Alot of install/ uninstall experimentation of software and hardware. In the past Ive really never had anything i couldn't do without,so i would reformat and do a clean install and go from there. Messing with the registry has always scared me but what kind of geek would i be to never learn. Ive built this computer from scrap bits and pieces from other computers and such.so im sure i have allot of garbage left over taking up space and slowing it down. Thank you for your time i appreciate you takeing your time and effort to help me. Especially to look up things.
Im not used to it. So far most of the time people dont like to share knowledge that they had to work hard for.
By far this is the coolest site I've come across. Next time i wont be so lengthily. Just thought i should put things in perspective.
'went to viaarena.com found good info but they all look the same to me? Help i dont know which one to choose. I dont think i want 4in1 because i intend on learning raid in the future. If anyone can clear this up to me i would appreciate it. Thanks again Mobo: KT333-8235 BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG ' That chipset uses 4-in-1 drivers - they offer a couple sets, 1 without Raid support and 1 with it.
Initially, try the set without. You can always download and copy to disk BOTH sets. 'you say board supports raid' Bah!
I said no such thing. You said - 'i dont think i want 4in1 because i intend on learning raid in the future.' I have no idea what mobo you have except the chipset or if it supports Raid or not. I simply said that that site has 4-in-1's that support 1 or the other. Since you cannot/will not go through the work to identify your mobo, just try them. That site says, in part ' There are three main differences between a VIA Hyperion 4in1 driver package and a VIA HyperionPro package, detailed below.
All other recommendations remain. 1) The HyperionPro package includes SATA/RAID drivers whilst the Hyperion 4in1 package does not.' Read the material they post.
Looks like your board supports Raid already Therefore you just need two same size HardDrives You may need to download your Manual to see which Sata ports are the Raid ports on your Motherboard Plug the two HardDrives in to the respective Sata ports on the Motherboard Go into your CMOS Setup (DEL or some key on system startup) Enable Raid Go from there sorry i thought i was talking to the same persn my bad i went to web site and sent what seemed by info to be it maybe i just got the wrong # hows this mvip ver. 1.0 if thats not it just let me know maybe stupidity butdeffinately not a lack of effort i did read what they posted even compared pics thats where i got this #mvip ver 1.0.
Believe me Ive google my brains out Ive only been doing this for a little over a year sometimes i can get a little snowblind if i missed something obvious i apologies, but there is no reason to get tacky. Remember with your experience what is obvious to you can be Greek to me. Lets chill if you feel I'm asking something irritating simply don't reply. I don't need that kind of help. But if so it would be a shame because I'm sure i could learn allot from you. Remember don't criticize the person and remember i am a beginner.
Don't assume; you know what that does right please don't yell bad bad geek.

You need to download the BIOS from the link you provided, Foxconn's support site.

I would contact Foxconn's Technical Support and tell then your version and which version you should download if you decide to flash the BIOS.
There are only three files in each zip file. The firmware and AWDflash.exe This is a utility from Award which also is a BIOS company. I believe Phoenix purchased them. AWDflash needs to be run from DOS. You cannot run it in Windows.
There is also a file called. It takes multiple firmwares and combines them into one firmware file. You may want to ask about this when you contact Foxconn. Also ask them about the memory size discrepancy.
